Appointment Requests

We receive
referrals from churches, by word of mouth and by web
searches. We count it a privilege to minister the love of
Christ to hurting individuals.
What is the procedure to make an appointment?
•
We first ask that individuals fill out an application (see
below), which takes perhaps 20 minutes. There are questions
about your life history, your particular issues, why you
are asking for ministry, and a waiver form. We try to
respond to inquiries as soon as possible — from the
same day to one week at the latest.
• Sessions are scheduled at either 10 a.m., 2 p.m., or
7 p.m. North American Eastern time (UTC -0500), Monday
evenings through Friday mornings.
• Telephone or Skype consultations are also possible
for those who are unable to meet with us personally. They
have proven to be quite effective and eliminate time and
travel costs. We will contact you after you have completed
the application below to set up appointments.
Please note: a
support person must be present during ministry time for
individuals desiring ministry via telephone/Skype who have
suicidal ideations.
• Depending on how fully we are booked, there can be a
wait of several days to perhaps three weeks for an
appointment, unless there are cancellations.
• Appointments are made on a first come, first served
basis; a standard appointment is 2 hours long (or
optionally 2.5 or 3 hours maximum, at additional cost). The
fee is $120 for a standard two hour session ($60 per hour),
currently non-taxable. For those who travel a distance, we
can arrange for up to 2 three hour sessions in a day, up to
three consecutive days.
• We recommend that 4 or 5 sessions be set up, to
maintain continuity by avoiding long delays between
sessions. If these appointments are not needed, they can be
cancelled. We generally recommend sessions every two weeks,
as we often give assignments to be completed between
sessions.
• At least 24 hours notice is required for
cancellation of single sessions, and three business days
notice are needed to cancel full day sessions. Unless there
are extraordinary circumstances, not giving sufficient
notice is subject to a one hour fee.

Please
note:
Personal Prayer Ministry does
not function as a “crisis hotline,” but rather
as a specialized extension of pastoral care, and as such,
we desire to work in partnership with local churches and
health care professionals, when possible.
The love of God can touch and transform anyone, anywhere,
at any time. However, prayer ministry is not intended to
circumvent appropriate medical treatment, but rather to
complement it, by addressing foundational spiritual issues,
which can help bring wholeness to the physical, emotional
and mental aspects of our lives.
While we desire to minister the love of God to those in
need, if you suffer from a serious mental health disorder
such as schizophrenia, bi-polar manic-depression, or PTSD,
these disorders require suitable mental health treatment.
We do not provide assessment, diagnosis or psychiatric
treatment. Any medication questions need to be addressed by
your family doctor or psychiatrist.
We are not able to respond to emergency crises such as
child protection, trauma, domestic violence or sexual
assault. Please contact your local authorities or crisis
hotline. In situations where trauma has occurred, crisis
intervention and assessment by a local mental health
professional is strongly advised. Subsequent prayer
ministry can be very beneficial in facilitating your
journey of healing.
